Arrest History in Benton County

How to Look Up Benton County Arrests

Who Owns Benton County Arrest Records
The badge on the report determines the agency-record request. Benton County Sheriff's Records cannot be assumed to hold a Kennewick Police report. What an Arrest Record Shows
An agency arrest report and a jail booking entry overlap but are not the same document. The report can include the alleged offense, probable-cause narrative, warrant information, property, evidence, and event details. Corrections adds the intake and custody fields. A later court case number or disposition appears only if the systems cross-reference or update it. Read each field in the context of its custodian and date.

Arrests vs Convictions
An arrest entry records an allegation and custody event. A conviction is a court judgment of guilt after a plea or verdict. The documents come from different offices and can have different public-access rules. Release without a filed charge, dismissal, or acquittal does not turn the old booking event into a conviction, and it may not automatically erase the agency record.

Note: An arrest is not proof of guilt, and a booking charge may be declined, dismissed, replaced, or end in acquittal.
Benton County Arrests After Transfer
The Benton County roster covers local jail custody. After sentencing and transfer, the Washington State Department of Corrections Incarcerated Search is the correct state channel. It accepts a DOC number, first name, or last name. Public results can show the DOC number, displayed name, age, and location. It does not report ordinary Benton County pretrial detention and should not be used as a substitute for the county roster.
